A Perfect Cabo Destination - Marquis Los Cabos

Marquis Los Cabos in Los Cabos, Mexico, is ideally positioned between San Jose and Cabo, just off the main road traveling from the San Jose airport. After many hours of scouring potential locations for our annual mother-daughter vacation, we chose Marquis Los Cabos. We wanted to try an all-inclusive resort, and this felt like the perfect balance between laid-back and relaxing but with access to adventure and fun without much effort.

Having never been to Mexico, we were pleasantly surprised by the Los Cabos (SJD) airport. It had more modern technology and amenities than expected, so we immediately felt at ease. Getting through customs was easy and relatively quick, and before we knew it, we were in a nicely equipped, air-conditioned Transcabo SUV and headed to the resort, which was a short 15-minute drive.

We stepped out of the SUV onto the grounds of the resort and were immediately met with warm smiling faces and handed frozen tropical drinks to kick off our stay. The resort's lobby was breath-taking - like you see in the pictures. Check-in was seamless. With a 45-minute wait for our room, we wandered down to have our first all-inclusive meal at a poolside cafe. We had fresh ceviche and shared fish tacos that were so good. At first taste, we were happily satisfied as we anticipated our room.

The room was available in 45 minutes, as promised. We were escorted to our room by a friendly worker who somehow, seemingly with no effort, managed our hefty bags while navigating the sidewalks and a flight of stairs leading to our room. The heavy wooden door opened into a GLORIOUS room! This room was beyond every expectation - clean, beautiful decor, spacious, phenomenal view with a magical private upper deck and dipping pool. The kitchenette had a refrigerator and sink. The fridge was stocked with bottled water, soft drinks, and, I believe, Mexican beer. We aren't beer drinkers, so I didn't make a special note. There were sweet and salty snacks on a tray - all part of the all-inclusive package. Our room was called a Casita - it would be ideal for a honeymoon or anniversary celebration, but it was also perfect for our 5-day mother-daughter retreat. As the days progressed, the cleaning team at the resort was meticulous - they stripped and replaced the bedding every day. A cleaning team member carefully replaced utensils, glasses, coffee, and snack food.

We spent the larger part of our next few days lounging by the beautiful infinity edge pools. There are endless magnificent views, so getting a prime spot to spend the day poolside wasn't difficult. The waiters were more than pleasant and readily at your service to bring whatever was needed - tropical drinks, pizza, fresh guacamole, and more. When we finished a meal or drink, a staff member was there to quickly sweep away the dirty dishes and tidy up the space. In addition to the incredible views, perfectly manicured landscape, and gorgeous pools, there was a fun-loving and energetic entertainment team eager to provide fun activities and a chance to commune with the other guests. The activities included giant Jenga and Connect Four, archery, quarterback toss competitions, and my daughter's favorite - beach volleyball. She started on day one and didn't miss one of the two times-per-day pickup matches.

The balance of people to space at Marquis Los Cabos is ideal. It is not overly crowded, but there are enough people to allow for ample people watching and just enough to set off a friendly, energetic vibe. The atmosphere is laid back, casual, and fun. If you are in for a big party-style vacation, I would say this is not your spot, but if you want to relax, and enjoy good food and drinks in a beautiful setting with great people and easy access to San Jose and Cabo, then Marquis Los Cabos would be a good fit. This resort will create a fantastic backdrop for adult family vacations, mother-daughter trips, honeymoons, anniversaries, and trips with friends.

We will absolutely be back.

Food: 7/10

The food was really good overall and the fresh juice (made every morning) was DELICIOUS!. The daily breakfast buffet was fantastic and never got old. They switched the options up each day with so much to choose from that it would be easy not to eat the same breakfast twice.

There are several restaurants on the grounds. For most of them, you need a reservation to get in, and you need to make reservations 2-days in advance for the more popular places when we were there. We liked the Italian restaurant the best. If you missed out on getting a reservation on time every night, they had a buffet with entertainment that did not require a reservation. They switched the buffet food up each night to a nice variety.

Cleanliness: 10/10

We found our room, the grounds, and the eating areas to be very clean. The staff was intentional about ensuring there was no trash lying around, the food was picked up, and towels were away.

Service: 10/10

Every interaction we had with the team at Marquis Los Cabos was positive. Everybody was accommodating and incredibly friendly - from the concierge to the entertainment crew, wait staff, and cleaning team.

Rooms 10/10

Our room was beautiful!! It was grand, comfortable, cozy, well designed, clean, and had the most fantastic ocean view. We splurged for a higher-end room that was oceanfront with a dipping pool. It exceeded our expectations and my opinion, was worth every penny spent.
